This article examines 10 different web tools (online tools) that help to make the online marketer’s job easier. Many of these tools have free trials so that you can try-before-you-buy. Also, there are limited time giveaway opportunities offered by the companies who are featured in this article.
Here are some key points we will be discussing today:
1) Content Creation and Curation Tools
2) Social Sharing Tools Worthy of Attention
3) The-Must Organization & Project Management Tool
4) And, of course, Giveaways…
This article is a contribution by Deborah Anderson from SocialCafeChat.com.
I don’t know about you, but I love tools. I am also an efficiency addict. So, when I find tools that help me to be more efficient and provide ROI (return on investment), I definitely check them out and see if they fit what I need. This is a list of tools that I have personally tried out in my brand and have spent time interviewing over the past few weeks/months. You will see that the interviews are included, below. All of these companies have also been kind enough to offer giveaways so that some lucky winners can get a longer period of time to try out their pro service at no additional cost, or other valuable prizes (prizes vary with each vendor).
So, let’s talk about what these tools do and how they can help you and your brand.
Four Content Creation (and Curation) Tools
The first section of tools include content production and content curation. In some cases, the tools do a bit of both and so they are all lumped together here.
[Tweet “MyBlogU also features the #myblogu chat every Thursday. “]
Ann also provides a course on how to use the tool so that if there is any part of it that is confusing, the course can clarify that. The tool is easy to use but it is so unique that it is new territory that many have not thought of using and so this training is that much more helpful. If you are the type that likes to produce different types of content, especially with your writing, then this is a tool that you definitely want to add to your tool box to help change up your content and keep it fresh (and epic)!
Webinar Fusion Pro
Let’s stretch a little in thinking about some more content. In this case, it is videos (specifically webinars) and it is able to be monetized (even earning money for you while you are away). It isn’t free. It also isn’t inexpensive. However, if you are into creating webinars, this is much less expensive than the alternatives. [Tweet “Webinar Fusion Pro is based on the Google Hangout on Air technology, though they are talking about creating a proprietary system that is more versatile.”] There are so many more features than could be explained here that you should check out what Charles Terrence Harper says about it, in the interview above. Charles is one of the core team members of Webinar Fusion Pro. Do keep in mind that this is a new product. They have an awesome support team but are still working out some kinks. So, why do I recommend it? I recommend it because the price is still low enough (even if not “low”) to get in on the ground floor before the price goes even higher. I know, that sounds like a marketing ploy, but this comment is based on comparing this tool to others like it which are already much higher. So, take a chance and save some money, if you are into creating webinar content. #SocialCafe Webinar Fusion Pro Giveaway!
[Tweet “You can use Sniply to encourage others to check out your favorite blogs, bloggers, videographers, or other resources.”]
You can also use it to highlight your own content on your own web site. It is an easy way to create CTA (call to action) buttons to help highlight your content.
Let’s use an example. You may have a white paper or detailed article explaining why someone needs to purchase your services. By creating a snip (with Sniply) you can over lay your very own article with a CTA that provides the link to where the reader can order your services. It is true that you could (and should!) include this on the actual page, but my using sniply you are providing another encouraging hint for your reader. This is only one simple example and there are many more uses. Michael Cheng, Co-founder, shares some of those in the video above.
Why do I call this content creation? Another example that is used in this video, compliments of Lina Hu, is using Sniply as a team tool to research and share your research with other team members. Are you getting the idea of how Sniply could be used in more and more ways? It is only limited by the amount of time that you have to come up with ideas.
Meddle.it helps to save you time in creating the blog post. Instead of spending 4-5 hours writing a blog article, you can “meddle” other articles and compile them all into one larger article. You have already basically written your article through the meddles and all you need to do is compile it and you have a full article. [Tweet “Ok, so you are probably wondering what a meddle is. Good question. It is best answered by Ted Coine, CMO of Meddle.it.”] A meddle is similar to commenting on a blog, but it offers you the ability to take that comment off the page and make it your own. Many times comments live only on that page. There may be some engaging discussion on the article, but no one else is seeing the brilliance of your comment. Meddle offers you the ability to really promote your own thoughts on what you read. What I recommend is to continue to comment (i.e. hint hint, comment on this article 😉 ), but also use Meddle to expand on your comment and sent it out to the internet to brand yourself (and create that unique content after you collect your related meddles). #SocialCafe Ted Coine (CMO, Meddle.it) and his Autographed Book, “A World Gone Social” Giveaway!
Five Social Sharing and Marketing Tools
The following group of tools mostly fall into the category of social media marketing and social sharing tools, but also includes another tool that we will cover.
[Tweet “Another added benefit is that MavSocial is connected to several other libraries, include some free media for you to use!”]
You do not have to be rich to use MavSocial, but you will surely be spreading your media-rich visuals throughout the internet!
Are you a Pinner? Into Pinterest? BoardBooster offers you a suite of tools that is helpful for Pinterest. It has been developed by Dennis Kashkin, founder (and developer) at BoardBooster. This is one of those hidden gems that is just starting to gain traction. You can be an early adopter! Or, I should say, earlier than many of your friends and associates. Dennis offers tools that are not seen in other places. He offers Pinterest scheduling tools, but he goes beyond that and offers Pin quality tools and group tools, helping you to really add to your experience and produce quality Pinterest boards for your followers. [Tweet “BoardBooster – Most of what is available is free!”] #SocialCafe BoardBooster Giveaway!
The tool is very visually appealing and easy to navigate. It also allows for suggested content so that you can find complimentary content to use in your social media. You can cross-share from platform to platform and ViralTag ensures that you give credit where credit is due.
[Tweet “ViralTag also offers a free trial to see for yourself.”]
Smqueue has been around for a little while, but just had a facelift a couple months ago. There are many changes happening over at smqueue and many more to come! Founder Greg Wilson describes some of these changes that have happened and what is happening in the future at smqueue, in the interview above. [Tweet “smqueue is marketed as a “command center” with connections to the different social networks, consistent with what you would expect in a social sharing platform. “] However, smqueue goes further than that and connects to other applications, like Skype (not sure if that is a forthcoming or existing feature). The idea is that smqueue serves as that one-stop-shop, or in this case, a control panel/dashboard, where multiple apps can be handled in one place, saving you time and energy. This tool could almost be an organizational tool (below), but it is also very solid on the social sharing with Facebook, Twitter, and more, so it is included in the social media marketing tools. There is a trial period for smqueue so that you can find out for yourself! #SocialCafe SMQueue Giveaway!
[Tweet “So, what is Ninja Outreach? It is an all-in-one tool to generate leads and all of your outreach campaigns.”]
Honestly, co-founder David Schneider describes it much better than I do (above)! The key thing to keep in mind is that while most of the information that Ninja Outreach grabs is available online, it takes so much time to compile that. Ninja Outreach saves oodles of time by bringing the metrics to you, inside the application. There is also the availability to send templated (yet customized) emails to your contacts from within the program. On top of that, it is highly affordable, for what you get. But, you can try out a free version to see if it meets your needs.
One Organization Tool
Now that we have a bunch of tools, how do we keep them all straight? That is where it is always helpful to have some organizational tools in our tool chest. That is where the following comes in handy.
[Tweet “The use cases and possibilities with Trello are endless.”]
There are those who would say that Trello is a project management tool. There are others who would declare that it is not complex enough to be a project management tool. I say that it really doesn’t matter what the “label” is, if it works for you, use it. The idea is that Trello provides “cards” where a bunch of information can be loaded into it (whatever you like). Then, those cards may be grouped into lists and those lists grouped into boards, which may be grouped into organizations. So, you have several different ways you could use it!
That was a very simplistic definition of how Trello works. The best thing to do is to try it yourself and see if there is functionality within Trello that helps you to stay organization. And, Trello is free!
Everyone wins! Generous door prize from Brian Cervino at Trello! All you have to do is show up at the Twitter Party (6/9/15 6p PDT / 9p EDT) and you will receive instructions on how to claim Trello Gold! (Hint: Schedule a “Hello there” tweet for that time period and you qualify. Also, check the archive of the Twitter Party afterwards, too 😉 )
