Is Stress Silent Killing You? Learn How to Be Less Stressed and Happier
How high are your stress levels on a scale of 1 to 7? If the latest report from the Global Organization for Stress is to be believed (and it is), then at least 75% of the American population is stressed. Stress causes differ from one person to another, but politics both at a national level and within the workplace are leading factors.
Surprisingly, the problem is not a reserve of the older generation. It has become a major mental concern for teenagers between 9th and 12th grade. Experts warn that this condition will hunt them into adulthood if these teens are not being taught effective ways of dealing with it.
And now there’s word of stress among freelancers and digital nomads. Isolation, financial instability, irregular work hours, and a mindset of always staying connected to answer client needs can turn against your dream life.
What Is the Cause Of The Problem?
Stress is a result of several factors. We are increasingly becoming a society of hustlers, sparing little or no time to rest, effectively causing our brains to work harder than necessary. Technology makes us believe that we can do it all in the least time possible, and so it seems we are always juggling several activities. Multi-tasking can turn against you, instead of contributing to your own benefit.
What Is the Solution?
To protect the mind from getting overwhelmed, people need to pause and focus on mental health for a second. Simple things as taking a few minutes to meditate could clear your mind and help you reduce anxiety. Give in and create the healthy balance your mind craves for. When was the last time you went on holiday?
While you are at it, dance a little or find a fun workout regime. When your physical body is in great shape, your mind benefits, too. Check out Infographic for additional work-life balance tips.
